A 6-in-1 brass hammer being dismantled and put back together. I am aware that there are a few "pops" in the sound, but i am not completely sure how to remove them, so i left them there in case someone with more experience in audio editing wants them. The sounds i recorded from the smallest possible parts of the hammer are not included because they were way too quiet to be useful :1.

This is a recording of children playing in the large playground at the luxembourg gardens in paris, france. The recording was made from the east side of the playground, next to an attraction that allows kids to hang from a sort of harness and slide down a rail. The metallic clink you hear periodically is the sound of the runners on this gadget banging into each other as kids jump off of them. Recorded with a zoom h4n at 96 khz / 24 bits in stereo with built-in mics.

This was recorded from my windowsill facing onto a tarmac driveway in august 2012. There is the occasional tinkling sound of raindrops hitting a metal gate, some traffic noise, the occasional bit of thunder, and some shouts of people getting wet. At the end, raindrops start falling onto the recorder. This is fairly heavy rain by oxford standards; we probably get something like this only a couple of times a year. This fall turned into hail a bit later. Recorded with a marantz pmd661.

Sfx for a mail being delivered through a mail slot. It is a recorded with a hinged piece of metal screwed to wood because i no longer live in a place with a mail slot but needed the sound. Sounds a little thinner than a real one but it served my purposes. Recorded on a sd 702 with an ntg1 in a small video studio with cement floor and treated walls and ceiling. The beefier dropping mail sound was recoded in a small hallway with tile floor.

This is a short sample from a noise track i just completed. It sounds a lot like someone screaming/roaring into a microphone, but it's actually a roland juno-6 played through various fx pedals (boss metal zone, boss xtortion, boss me-30 on ring mod setting, danelectro fish & chips, and a sprinkling of various other fx pedals throughout the recording). Recorded direct to sound card.

Shaking a 7-up can by holding the rim and holding the can sideways so the tab i broke off earlier slides around inside the can up and down the walls. It still has a few drops in it. File ends when i put it down on the desk on the other side of my keyboard from the mic. Recorded with cheap 12-year-old radio shack mic.

Sounds of trains passing above an art atelier in brussels, belgium; the room is right below the railway, so you can hear trains making different kinds of rumbles and noises from the other side of the ceiling. It was recorded with a tascam hd-p2 recorder and a sennheiser mkh50 directional microphone. I selected only the train-passing moments, there is a metal door shaking on the background and maybe some traffic, but i think it's cool enough. (:.

Dark background sound in place of background music. I recorded this in my booth, using audacity and my cad e100s. The higher sound is a pen tapping on the bottom of a metal cup. I used various effects to stretch, raise pitch, and a few others. I also layered the higher sound 4 times to get the "harmony". The low sound was my voice. I lowered pitch, speed and stretched the wave, as well as a few other effects as well. Enjoy.

Formatted for use in the makenoise morphagene eurorack module. These live acoustic recordings i made with a sony pcm m10 around my house / farm in thailand. They concentrate on the percussive hits, scrapes, cuts, frogs, insects, water wells, metal farm things, gongs, railings, fans, crushed snail shells, creaks, dogs, drips and clicks. Useful for musique concrete artists. Https://www. Instagram. Com/p/cczmpenh1n0/?igshid=13qsz9itlxntphttps://www. Instagram. Com/p/cfb6blvhexl/?igshid=b35rj1fju85rfor morphagene users, just rename the wav file "mg1" for it to be seen. The wav file can be used in any sampler but you may not see any of the morphagene slice points - so you need to slice manually. I record music as "mudlogger" using buchla easel/200e, serge 4u and eurorack instruments and as "hoan kiem chess team" using ciat lonbarde instruments. Https://mudlogger. Bandcamp. Faucet in a metal sink turned on and off. Hands are run through the water to simulate hand washing. Recorded in a tokyo apartment with a coincidental mic pair placed at a 90 degree angles it's basically a raw recording, but i ran an ssl hpf with the cutoff set at about 28 hz to take out the rumble of the train passing by. . . Since the apartment was near the station, the train sound was unavoidable. But if this is used in a larger mix, it probably won't be noticeable.

Explosion sound created using a zoom h1 and tempering with metal fibers near the mic capsules. Added verb and pop compression for better flexibility. Recorded at 24bit 96khz, down converted to 16 bit wav. Feel free to use this for what ever you need it. Wouldn't mind some credit, thank you. :) stay tuned for more audio effects. Due note that they will improve.
