An attempt to make an entire drum kit using only cymbal sounds. Cymbals were pitch-shifted, compressed, equalized, and subjected to other effects in order to make them capable of filling the roles usually occupied by actual drums. A baler machine being used at a recycling centre. The baler goes through a full cycle from start to finish and is generally used to compress cardboard into small cubes which can then be recycled. This is a knife i use often at my workplace cutting different materials. It’s called an ofla knife- they’re pretty small and can retract and come back out again with a drag of a switch. This is me dragging that switch up and down, slowly for each individual tick and then all at once. I know in this recording the background isn’t completely silent, i’ll try to reupload a recording when it is at some point.

A short and simple tapping riff. All guitar tracks were recorded with an ibanez rg7321 plugged directly into an m-audio fast track pro. I used cubase as my daw and plugins by tse audio and lepou for overdrive and amp simulation, respectively, some stock cubase plugins (eq, compression, delay, etc. ) and some drum hits were added using superior drummer.

I have recorded the noise made by blowing in a glass bottle and i have added a “wahwah effect”. Then, i have recorded a sound made with my thumb and the bottleneck. I have changed the speed ant cut it. Then, i have recorded the noise made with my hand hitting the bottleneck. I have used the effect “blend in closing” and changed the height. This sound can be used as a loop. I used audacity.

I noticed one night my broken metallic glass screen door was making quite a ruckus in the wind. I grabbed my zoom h1 and a roll of duct tape and taped it to the interior portion of the door. I recorded one usable minute of passing train, moving slowly through town. I thought the local engine served just one customer, a major metal scrap yard, but the half-dozen box cars on this engine don't fit that model. Considering the overall decrepit condition of american railways, this one isn't bad.

A muted detonation follows at extreme right - a non-realistic and short explosion. Created with ni fm8 running as a vsti inside flstudio 11 with a touch of fl reverb2. The "projectile" whistle is a soft square wave lightly modulated by a sinewave at 6x the frequency of the square wave fundamental to give it a touch of metallic ringing.
