I did not record this ambience sound! wtfi've left my zoom h1 recorder at a friends place for quite some while until i picked it up today. Accompanied by a few tracks that make sense to us i also found this record, which none of us (not me nor my friend) recognizes as their record. This is a clip of various engine sounds recorded on my 2003 subaru impreza wrx with a 3" turbo-back exhaust system. The audio starts with the engine at idle and includes a few engine revs at different rpms. You can hear some turbo whistling and also some rattling of god-knows-what parts. It's a little muffled (kind of a muddy sound), but could be used as part of an action sequence or with a music track laid over. Walking on a trail in the winter woods. . . Fairly fast pace. I start off walking through leaves, then transition to walking on the gravellyasphalt surface. Since this recording was made in winter in early afternoon, there are no othersounds in the woods but just the steps. Equipment used: zoom h4n recorder, beyerdynamic m58 microphone.

4ch-surround field recording of a tv editing suite with all machines running. Very useful as a neutral backdrop for any kind of motion picture or radio play requiring an "techy" feel to the atmosphere. Recorded with a zoom h2, these are the rear channels, mics set to 120° dispersion.

Single-pitch heavy distortion with multi-layer. Mild modulation. Made for a emotionally intense moment in a horror film. Toward the middle you will hear a very quiet rhythmic element. Used a roland groovebox self-sample utility directly to wav, which results in good recordings, though reduced high frequencies.

Designed with malstroem and basic 64. Malstroem. Graintable synthesis with "random" lfos and a freeware synth called basic 64, that is often used for the reproduction of c64 sounds. But here, the patch sounds like tools. It's a different synthesis, similar to the subtractive synthesis, but not as easy to handle as e. G. A minimoog synth or a prophet 5.

There are three of these files. I used the microtrack to record them. I put the mic on an extension and stuffed it inside of an already noisy drive and ran a defrag. These files are samples of the different types of noise that i got. Basically it's a close perspective on a working/struggling hard drive.

These sounds were recorded with a match pair of rode m5 small diaphragm condenser microphones, into a zoom h4n. These are the raw sound recording with not noise reduction, eq, or compression.
