In this record you can hear the noise of the chain of one bicycle being pedaled. Is like a hum. It is a sound object used in the sonic ensemble soundscape for the sound creation lab project. The sound is of the metal plates of the walkway rubbing together as the jetty gently rises and falls on the swell. Eerie and atmospheric. Strangely quiet considering it was recorded in a major city.

When my band was allowed to record after-hours in an industrial space in west oakland, i took the opportunity to show up early to record some of the machines in action. This is a recording of an industrial embroidery machine as it sews on logos to eight sweatshirts.
