Clean recording of water being poured into a metal pot, meant to emulate the sound of water being poured into a kettle/teapot. Would work for pouring any liquid into almost any metal container (metal containers give off a subtle "twang" that isn't generally produced when pouring into other material containers such as glass, ceramic, plastic, wood, etc). Field-recording of the creek found in old ellicot city, md. The creek is located in a suburban town, and is surrounded by a man-made rock moat about a story below street level. Recorded using a sony pcm-m10 at 24bit, 96k. The sound has been gently processed!!- hpf (6db slope) to remove rumble- compressor (ni supercharger gtx) with a minimal 1db gain reduction in m/s mode and a bit of warmth added. - ozone 5 for a little m/s eq to alleviate some of the watery pops on the sides and a little stereo widening to compensate for the pcm-m10's built in omni mics.

Blip trails: c2 note, random blip sounds with fast attacks and short trails using massive. Sampled into ableton with just a touch of reverb to help the trail smooth out, compression using psp compressor2 and psp warmer. Random parameters in massive, and very little other effects used. I wanted to find a good creative commons 0 sound effect of fingernails scratching on a wooden surface but i could find the exact thing i was looking for. So i recorded myself scratching my bedroom door with my fingernails using a recording app on my phone and edited it in audacity to remove breathing sounds, and to make the sound feel more heavy/deep, including some very faint reverb. Since i really wanted this i thought it might be useful for someone else! i hope someone else out there like me finds this somewhat useful. In broekhuizen, near arcen, lies the old ferry named grubbenvorst, dying on the river maas. It has been replaced by a newer one. The old one lies rotting away some hundred metres away from its old trajectory. It was very windy that day and the carcass of the ship was mildly rocking back and forth resulting in this beautiful creaking. The occasional thud is the boat hitting the construction it is lying in. This recording was made with a zoom h2n on 4 channel mode. It was then further edited and processed using reaper. It was recorded on april 3rd 2018. The zoom was protected by a rycote windshield and my own cap as an extra windbreaker.

An audio translation of statistics on the current covid-19 pandemic. A sound composition that makes the pandemic tangible on an acoustic level, based on data series and curves. The basis for the auditory presentation of the statistics is provided by pixelsynth, a browser-based synthesiser for generating sounds from images. A cursor scrolls over the monochrome image of a statistic and plays notes when it comes into contact with bright pixels. The audio tracks generated by pixelsynth from the statistics were then recorded in logic pro and individually processed using effects, automations and other synths and sounds. Additional information: the audio is complemented by appropriate animations of the statistics, which cannot be shown here, however.

Recording of some new year's celebrations in vienna. Captured using a clippy stereo em172 microphone and a zoom h5 handheld recorder. I positioned the microphone capsules outside the window on the left and right and then gently (almost) closed it. I setup the recorder and rolled the whole evening. This bit was around the apex of the celebrations in that part of town. Sadly some clipping occured, but i chose to upload the unaltered file. So no post-processing has been applied. Cut in ocenaudio. This is a single guitar string plucked with a pick directly at the headstock, that means between the tuners and the nut. There the string is very short and tight, resulting in a high, almost piano-like tone. Also, since there is no sound box, the tone is rather quiet. I used this for a sampler and i liked the sound of it. This is the raw recording. If you want to use it in a sampler too, i recommend adding some eq, reverb and maybe some delay. It is not perfectly in tune though, the closest note is a#. You might tweak the tuning a little bit when using it in combination with other tuned instruments. I made a synth snare sound by using deflemask to make it. I also did this with the synth kick sound, too.
