The increasingly rare melody of the whipporwill. . . . Cricket frogs also. A wonderful summer soundscape, bringing back memories of days gone by. I recorded a thunderstorm with my samsung galaxy m20 out of my bathroom for 10 minutes. There is a corrugated plastic roof, which gives the rain a nice, but also a tinny sound. That's why highlighted the bass sounds and reduced the high noises for a better experiance. I also looped it, so it is 30 minutes long with fade-in and fade-out. Enjoy!.

A recording of a red-shouldered hawk vocalizing on the outskirts of a small town in illinois. This is a behavior they do at this time of year to mark their territory. From another perspective, i think this sounds like the sound-signature of the wild. Equipment used: sony pcm d100 using internal microphones. Enjoy.

Springtime in a rural indiana neighborhood. A pair of neumann km183 microphones connected by canare l-4e6s and neutrik connectors to a zoom f8 recorder. Gain set to 60db. No processing. Wind noise occasionally, but no overs. This would be a good file to experiment with highpass filtering to remove wind noise.

Nearly three minutes of blackbird song. This file has been condensed (the time between song phrases is shorter than the natural interval). I have made every attempt to screen out other background noise (including painstakingly removing the song of most other birds) recorded in la drova (spain) and so this bird will have a spanish accent!.

Recorded on my zoom h4n in early spring at 1:32 am. I believe this to be a call of the great horned owl that is found all over north american as well as parts of central and south anerica. There is a distant sound of a dog barking but there are three owl calls, with the last two the cleanest.

This a spare recording from a short film i was making. It's a stereos track but all sounds are recorded to the left channel. This was recorded on a zoom h4n and a sennheiser me67. The sound is of a woodland near liskeard, cornwall, uk. There are occasionally cars passing, but mostly it's quite clean - and the cars might be useful for somebody.
