Listening to nightingales & other sleepy birds in the evening. . . You can hear my baby rook taki squak at the very end, cause he was getting restless & wanted to go home to sleep for the night. You can hear nightingales, warblers and thrushes all around. This was recorded using my crappy, old mp3 player in the countryside of henfield, near brighton, england, on the 31st of may 2010. I often play it & other recordings i made around there for my birds in the evening, as a kind of nature lullaby. ^-^.

Stomping on a big cement ground as hard a possible with a contact mic attached to the ground. The contact mic provides lots of bass so you can use this for punches, kicks, impacts, anything that can use a sweeter for impacts. I handmade my contact mic and recorded that into a h5. Ambiance of a huge lobby in vancouver, before the start of some lectures. The lobby was full of people. I took advantage of course, to "steal" this sound. I captured this sound on my canon powershot a460 digital camera. It was a horrible night, with strong winds and heavy rain. I went to my garden shed and positioned my camera at the small window inside my shed as there is a small hole in the right hand corner of the window, and through this small hole the wind blows through it making this whistle sound, almost like a flute. A suspenseful sting with a lot of bass. Gave it a scifi feel with the flanger. Made for the audience to feel foreboding or suspense during the scene. Can be paired with an object or character to give the audience negative feelings towards who or what's on screen. A tuned chau gong from my personal collection. I made these samples long ago and only did one take per gong. So, these sounds are a bit rough, but that should do well to suit the kinds of music that would use these gongs. I have tried loading single samples from this set (especially #4) across an entire keyboard, and playing that one sample as if it were the whole set, and that has worked out well. So, if one of the gongs crashes too much or decays too quickly for your liking, it should be trivial to replace that sound with another, pitch-shifted one.

Recording of my duduk. It's in the key of a, so i played a b3 and pitched it up to c3 with melodyne so it's usable in a sampler or to import as a wavetable in serum or whatever. Because of it's harmonic content, it actually works great as a clean yet relatively translatable sub bass for electronic music. I used it to make a wavetable in serum which works perfectly. The instrument is a double reed woodwind folk instrument from armenia, the reeds are made of a flattened piece of bamboo, and the body is made of the wood from an apricot tree. And it's history dates back to approximately 1200bc. Enjoy!.

One of a series of heavily processed recordings i made using a hikari monos cv. It's a small, highly tweakable synthesizer that's great for drones, resonant pings, and all manner of dynamic electronic sounds. ‘slayer’ refers to s-layer, the sample-mangling plugin made by twisted tools. By layering, blending, and mulching the original monos recordings, i was able to get a range of sounds the are dynamic, punchy, and unabashedly stereo. These might be useful for edgy-sounding ui elements.

Mind the loudness and piercing frequencies. Feedback made using only a self-patched random*source serge triple+ waveshaper, or tws+. Recorded with and formatted with splices for use with the make noise morphagene, but can use for and with whatever of course. Warning that it's it's quite high pitched so you may need to pitch it down with the morphagene's pitch knob a good bit if you want it less harsh. I think i acidentally hit splice instead of record one time so there might be a random short splice somewhere, but maybe it adds some splice length dynamics. . .

There's two male ghosts, one of them more loud and more low pitched than second. They sing along some song without words and screams, they're just wail and howl. Ideally can be placed in any place related somehow to ghosts(abandoned home, castle, graveyard) in some suspense moments or as constant sound on background(though, i should notice, that the sound isn't seamless). I recorded it with my own voice, audacity's delay effect on every of two tracks(every track has one voice - logically).

The very unique call of the cuckoo recording on may 23rd, 2015 in southern illinois. This "singing" sounds like nothing else in the forest. They are not very common in this part of the country, so, i am very very fortunate to have captured this primal call on " tape ". Equipment used: marantz pmd661, with stereo samson co-2 microphones mounted on a tripod about 4 feet from the ground. I was set up on a trail on the edge of a large forested area which eventually leads down to a huge lake. Recorded around 6:30pm on a mild evening--partly cloudy and temp was 74 degrees.

This was a battery-powered train car running in circles on its plastic track. Is the sound pleasant? no. Did i hold my zoom h4n upside-down in the center of the circuit so the engine slowly pans from ear to ear? absolutely.

I'm not really sure what i was going for, but it turned out to be this. I'd describe it as aliens trying to communicate with humans through radio or something. Original sound was me kicking snow off of a small bush. Recorded on my iphone8. Edited in audition.

In july this year, a tremendous rain that changed to intense hail hammering on greenhouse roof. Flashes each 10 seconds. Placed a plastic jar on the microphone to protect it. The raingod spoke and suddenly it was all over. (i have a video clip, if somwone wants).

For my own obscure reason i took file 389436, looped it so that it repeats at 60 bpm, added about 25% echo, then added bilateral panning at 15 cycles per minute (cpm).

This is a recording of my big german shepherd puppy panting. You will hear some car sounds from across the street. I am sitting on my porch at the time of this recording. At the end you will probably hear me say, "good doggie. ".

Artificial waterfall sound created using audacity. I created two brownian noise tracks and assigned one to the left channel and one to the right for a stereo effect. Using brownian noise means less high frequency noise that is harsh on the ears.
