A series of sounds of a baseball cap falling and hitting a hard surface (wood). I wanted to capture the sound of the brim of the hat hitting the ground as hits the ground.

I recorded this sound while walking to the firth of forth in scotland near the town of kirkcaldy. In the distance you can hear dogs barking.

Sampled off of a rare transitional stamp zildjian sizzle cymbal with 6 rivets.

I made this using two oscillators in native instrument's fm8 synth. There is nothing too fancy, just two sine waves played out the same output, but one has an offset of 440hz, and the second oscillator has an offset of 330hz. I then just played two notes that didn't sound too dissonant, and then ran it through some low-fi processing.

Shaking a 7-up can by holding the rim and holding the can sideways so the tab i broke off earlier slides around inside the can up and down the walls. It still has a few drops in it. File ends when i put it down on the desk on the other side of my keyboard from the mic. Recorded with cheap 12-year-old radio shack mic.

This is a basic dubstep beat. It was done in reason 7. It is useful in that it shows you a good way to construct a beat. It consists of four 4-bar measures, each progressing from the previous. In this way, you can see how to write a good beat, by starting off simple and building from there. Traditional dubstep drums are very spare and sporadic with the use of symbols. I never liked drum beats until i heard dubstep !.

Whenever i use my usb stick, my computer always makes an awful noise. I decided to record it and see if any of you guys can make anything out of it. To me it sounds like some sort of aliens or robots talking to each other. The only editing done was noise removal to get rid of the fuzziness and amplification to make it a little bit louder. Recorded with a sennheiser mkh 416 (as far as i recall) through a focusrite scarlett 2i2 into cubase 6. 5 in 48khz 24 bit. The name describes what it is: eg. Dice (3) in cup on table = three dice are put in a cup which stands on a table. The sounds were all recorded by me and were to be used in a video game, but i don't think they were ever used, so here they are. Take them! use them!.

Blue noise is also called azure noise and its power density increases 3 db per octave with increasing frequency over the frequency range. I created this by looping http://en. Wikipedia. The sound is a guitar drone. Effects used: light distortion > eq > pitch shifter/harmonizer on multi-effect > delay on a second multi-effect > more delay > vibrato > reverb. ) direct to soundcard, edited w/ compression and fading on the beginning/end to hide "loop clicks". Sound is a bit distorted in parts due to peaking from the reverb (i guess). . . Meant to imitate shoegaze-style guitar drones. . . If i had a proper amp it might sound better!.

Here's some ambience i recorded in 2021 when i went to surf side beach, texas for a weekend vacation with family. This was recorded from the decking of the house we were staying in. The beach was probably around 50 yards away from us, give or take a few feet. The ambience was recorded with the sennheiser ambeo smart headset (no longer made) connected to an apple iphone 8 with an app called backpack studio acting as the actual recorder.

This is the sound of a storm drain emptying into a gutter. My street floods in heavy rain, giving the storm drain a river-like sound. I placed my roland r-05 on the sidewalk just above the drain. It babbles and splashes like a river, but it is on a residential city street. I recorded it at 2am, so there are few vehicles in the recording though several faintly pass by in the background. Roller coaster- nothing really noteworthy about this recording. It’s just a nice wide stereo capture of an old style wood-frame roller coaster. I think there were only 2 or 3 people riding it as i did this recording, as it was a not-at-all busy weekday afternoon in the off season. We get a passing motorcycle at the very beginning, and then a distant plane just prior to the roller coaster. I recorded the fan on quite loud and i opened and closed the cd drive on my hp eletebook 8460p, different laptop models have a different frequency from the fan and different cd drives make a different sound when checking it. Recorded from the internal microphone.
