An enjoyable, reflective soundscape of kids playing and swinging and laughing in a park in a small, midwestern usa town. This was recorded at 1:30 in the afternoon on a beautiful, mild november day in 2020. Very pleasing to listen to, and probably helps to bring back memories of your own, warm childhood memories. Even though covid-19 is causing a huge problem all over the world, i find it very soothing and comforting knowing, despite the pandemic, kids are still doing what they've been doing since, well, forever, playing and laughing and having the care-free fun time of their life. The ambiance of the famous strasbourg christmas market, known as one of the oldest in the world (first edition took place in 1570) and the city's biggest touristic event, gathering thousands of people downtown for one month at the end of every year. I took my zoom h2n in different places, capturing a slightly different mood each time. Expect lots of crowd sounds, background music, street atmosphere and. . . A lot of different languages (french, german, spanish, english. . . . All recordings made in ms stereo mode (120° setting).

This recording was made alongside a camera trap survey while at loagan bunut national park in sarawak, malaysia. Various sounds of a carrot chopped into small pieces. The carrot lies on a wooden chopping board. There are also sounds, where you can hear how slices are moved on the board using the knife. All sounds in the pack "kitchen sounds 2022" were recorded with the zoom h6 and the xyh-6 microphone module. The sound was recorded at 96khz with 24bits. I limited the postprocessing to cutting and small gain adjustments. Also, i grouped similar sounds into larger files for easier handling and sound comparison. A mid-summer recording of the shawnee national forest in illinois featuring the singing of two popular summer visitors: (1) indigo bunting and (2) white-eyed vireo. I really enjoy hearing these calls because, while beautiful in their own right, they also signify the soon-to-be summer coming to a close. Recording made on august 6, 2022 at about 2pm in a clearing surrounded byseveral dozen black walnut trees, and, beyond those, thick, midwestern, insect-laden summer woods. This recording was done early one morning in may 2012 in the middle of scotland. You can hear the usual sounds of the countryside at this time of year and day. The two front microphones were facing the river tay, the two back ones drummond hill. This is the sound those front ones captured. All of them microphones were audio technica at-3031 ones, connected to the rme quadmic preamp into an edirol r-44 recorder. To get a quadraphonic or surround sound you have to download both tracks (they are next to eachother on the list) and alter them the way you want. If you compare them, then it shows what a difference it makes where you point those microphones.

A small group of people collected hay on a meadow by means of sweeping the hay into mounds and placing it on hay racks by means of pitchforks. A couple of guys set up hay racks by knocking a sharp, short pole obliquely into the ground to be used as support. Next, they used a crowbar to make holes in the ground for the large poles which were assembled in a row. Finally, a short oblique pole was knocked into the ground on the other side of the high poles and steel wire was attached t one of the oblique poles,then attached to the long poles by one loop on each pole until it was attached to the oblique pole at the other end. Birds were singing and sheep with bells were grazing nearby.

This recording was taken from the balcony of an apartment in johor bahru malaysia on september 30th 2022 at about 1:30pm. It was monsoon season but not raining and the weather was hazy and muggy. The recording features the drone of a busy city punctuated by a whippersnipper, a building site, birds, a light aeroplane and car horns. At around the 4:30 mark there's two loud motorcycles that race each other and echo around the city in a most glorious way. The recording was made with the inbuilt stereo microphones of a zoom h5 portable recorder.

One of autumn's most signature sounds is that of dry leaves skittering and tumbling as they ride along on a hard surface. In this case, the hard surface is asphalt. Hardly any other sound, just the strong autumn wind, and bunches of dried out sweet gum, maple and oak leaves racing across an asphalt parking lot. Think of it, also, as the sound from our youth, our careful youth when everything was achievable. At least for me, this brings me back to my happy place. The trilling bird calling towards the end of the recording is the beautiful little, rusty-capped chipping sparrow. These chipping sparrows converge on the midwest around this time and their calls can be mistaken as an insect. A 4-minute. Wav recording of an apartment parking lot in a small neighborhood with a busy nearby roadway - from a different perspective. Cars can be heard driving by, along with a faint humming with from some machinery and a small amount of wind. There is also some faint talking, laughing and coughs from a group in one of the apartment buildings, which can add to the effect. There are two instances when cars drive into the parking lot (about at 3:20 and 3:40), and shortly afterward a person walks by the mic. Recorded with the microphone of a nikon coolpix camera.

After recording trains crossing the adjacent tracks i turned the microphones southwest towards the intersection of harrison and wabash. Traffic was heavy and drivers were frequently blowing their horns at each other. A couple of vehicles playing loud music stop at the light. Time of recording was 5:57pm. Weather was warm, in the 80s. Stereo recording made in the generator hall of tate modern between exhibitions. The end of the hall furthest from the entrance was empty, so i ran the recorder for a couple of minutes just to sample the reverberation. Because it is a school holiday in the uk, there were large numbers of children in the gallery, especially on the upper deck bridge about 25m from the recorder, and their voices are higher pitched and their behaviour extrovert. The space is large, so the echoes give a lot of atmosphere. Recorded on zoom h2. Transferred to audacity and high pass filter with breakpoint of 180hz used (12db/octave) to remove the hum that is prevalent at this site. +6db of amplification used, so peaks at -18dbfs.

I went out to the lake to record some ducks. This day they weren’t squawking as much as i’d hoped, but the wind was calmer than it normally is, and the wind really is your biggest enemy when making outdoor recordings like these. But overall, the recording isn’t bad. The ducks are smallish black ones with white beaks called the american coot. Lots of tweeting birds in there too, especially the first half, and i think those are just the normal small sparrows that you see everywhere. Couple people chatting, but they’re way in the distance. This was recorded in the centre of oxford, near the junction between broad street and turl street, on 23rd february 2013. I was facing west along broad street with turl street, and the pavement, to my left. There are many different sounds on this recording including bikes being parked (i was standing near a bike rack) and ridden, cars lurking for a parking space, dropping people off and turning round (broad street has a car park in the middle of it), plenty of different people walking past and talking, and a big issue seller. There is the occasional bit of wind noise, but not as much as i'd feared (luckily the wind was behind me). Recorded with a marantz pmd661 with built-in microphones.

Recorded on june 29, 2012 near the exit at webster's department store. This features how the checkout area at websters sounded from june 2012 untill its closing on november 3, 2015. This is part of a pack of 4k sounds recorded over 17 years commemorating my friend's department store which she owned. It showcases how the sounds in the store have changed over the years as the technology of teh store changes. Each recording is done within a week after the cash registers are upgraded. As of the date of this posting, webster's is now closed, and will re-open as a walmart in january of 2016.

It was raining one night so i used a sony px720 digital voice recorder to catch some hopefully cool atmospheric type sounds. I placed the recorder next to my apartment window and stepped away for a few minutes. My window is situated right next to a rain-gutter so you hear the rain hitting the pavement along with the rain flowing down the gutter. You also hear four different cars drive by during the recording. Well that's about it hopefully these sounds are of some use to people.

Operating my washing machine (front loader, brand: indesit). This reflect the full circle of a washing process from turning the control knob to the typical “clack” when the machine is finished and the look is once again released. All the intermediate steps like washing, spinning and so on, are shorten in time (otherwise this would be a 50min sound clip). But you can loop all those sounds very well. Recorded with a zoom h2 with a rycote windshield in a shock mount fastened to the center frame above the pedals. All recordings in the set are raw from the recorder and will usually need a hi-pass filter to deal with the rumble. Steady riding and freewheeling along a minor street, with some cars and a scooter passing, some gear switching and stopping at a red light with cars passing on the intersecting street at the end. These are the rear channels, mics set to 120° dispersion.

Recording of the tires of a flat bed trailer going over a gravel path. This was from a hayride where i was sitting in the back with a bunch of kids being pulled by the tractor. Recorder was just a couple of feet from the wheel so most of the kids noises and even the tractor engine get drowned out, but still somewhat audible in spots. There are two recordings, one taken from the side with the mic at the wheel and one with the mic under the trailer while recording. (this is the one with the recorder under the trailer. ). Ambient recording of the courtyard in my apartment complex. The are two story brick buildings, next to a main road, border-line highway. The traffic light means that the birds and neighbor's dog start predominant, then are taken over by the rush of traffic as the light changes to green. A sunny day, but clouds are in the distance, as an impending storm is about to roll in. The whining dog seems to share his sentiment about the dark clouds. Recorded with a zoom h6, stereo xy adapter set to 120 degree spread. Set up through a wide open window as to cut down on wind noise.
